Tenerife property still
offers value with its great letting potential as the Island is still
the busiest tourist destination of the Canaries. Tenerife has invested
heavily in itself improving the infrastructure & airport.
You may go to
Tenerife for the sun, but you can
not ignore Mount Teide a snow capped volcano dominating the sky of
Tenerife at 3,700m high it is the highest peak in Spain.
This will be your first encounter with the scenery of Tenerife as you
fly into the airport, you will be in amazed by its extremes. A must is
to travel from heat of the island to the cold at its peak, but
do not be fooled the sun is extremely fierce so make sure your skin is
protected.
The island of Tenerife is one of two climates caused in the main by
the presence of
Mount Teide which effectively splits the island in two. With the
cooler northern side a lush tropical paradise with banana plantations and palm
trees, due to the area receiving a greater rainfall, you will
therefore have a higher probability of some cloudy days, but
this can be a bonus in the summer with the high temperatures of the
south.. In contrast the south of the island is ideal for the sun
worshipers with it being hot and
dry with almost a desert like landscape. Flights to Tenerife from the UK take around 4.1/2
hours, landing at the Reina Sofia airport in the south of the island.
But from October 2003 both Britannia Airways and GB Airways, a
subsidiary of British Airways, will start to operate 2 flights a week
into the magnificent new terminal at Los Rodeos airport in the north.
